Fellowship Program

The Arts Division of the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism (CCT) has developed a fellowship program open to recent college graduates who are interested in the arts. The Division currently offers Public Information, Art in Public Spaces and Visual Arts fellowships as a way to provide on-the-job training and meaningful experiences for individuals aspiring to careers in the arts. The fellowships offer firsthand experience in the arts and arts management fields; fellows are awarded a $30,000 annual stipend, with a required commitment of 30 hours per week for 50 weeks. Fellows benefit from working closely with the Arts Division’s professional staff; meeting and interacting with a wide variety of artists and arts professionals; establishing contacts at the state, regional, and national levels; gaining managerial and technical skills in specific areas of interest; and developing a broad perspective of the functions of a state arts agency. A recent fellow who “trained” for three years at CCT was able to transition immediately into a full-time administrative director position at a Hartford dance company.
