Kentucky: Give a Gift from Kentucky Campaign
Every holiday season, the Kentucky Arts Council (KAC) and the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea (KACB), its sibling agency within the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet, partner to promote Kentucky art, craft, music, books, specialty foods, and more through the Give a Gift Made in Kentucky campaign. For its part, KAC features on its website all things Kentucky-creative, including a schedule of artists’ open studios; a directory of retailers selling the work of artists participating in either KAC’s Kentucky Crafted, Architectural Artists Directory or Performing Arts Directory programs; links to websites featuring handmade holiday decorations; original artwork and literature by recipients of KAC’s Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowship; and recordings by musicians in KAC’s Performing Arts Directory. KAC’s website also offers a schedule of holiday performances taking place around the state. At the KACB, meanwhile, there is a host of demonstrations, book signings, musical performances and other events scheduled for the holiday season—in addition to the work of the 700 Kentucky artisans represented at KACB year-round. Find out more about the many opportunities available through the Give a Gift Made in Kentucky campaign from KAC Creative Industry Director Emily Moses.
