Alabama: Artist Designed Birth Certificates
The Alabama State Council on the Arts (ASCA), the Alabama Department of Public Health and the Alabama Department of Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention/Children’s Trust Fund recently collaborated to offer three specially designed keepsake birth certificates. A portion of the fees collected will be paid into the Children’s Trust Fund, which supports programs and activities for education about and prevention of child abuse and neglect. ASCA facilitated the selection of three Alabama artists to illustrate and design the special certificates. The artists selected believed their art would be able to assist abused and neglected children and make a difference in their lives. To find out more about this collaboration, contact Alabama State Council on the Arts Public Information Officer Barbara Reed.
