Georgia: Tourism Product Development Grants
Georgia Council for the Arts and Georgia Tourism, both divisions of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, have combined resources to offer Tourism Product Development (TPD) grants. TPD grants of up to $20,000 will be awarded in fiscal year 2012 to support the role of the arts in tourism by providing financial assistance to Georgia’s creative economies, with an emphasis on professional Georgia artists and the nonprofit arts industry. The grants will support a wide variety of programs and venues that attract visitors to Georgia communities. Funds may be used for project costs, artist fees, cultural events and the development of unique products by Georgia artists. In addition to opening up new resources for nonprofit arts organizations, the program encourages development of mutually beneficial partnerships between the arts industry and local governments that underscores the importance of professional artists in the production of goods and services critical to the state’s prosperity.
