Rhode Island: Raising Money through Crowdfunding

The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) is offering a new workshop on crowdfunding for artists. Based on the idea that many small contributions can combine to provide significant capital for creative business endeavors, crowdfunding is a strategy in which artists and entrepreneurs mine their networks and audiences to raise funds and develop other resources. The workshop, Raising Money through Crowdfunding, provides two hours of training for Rhode Island artists, orienting them to crowdfunding principles, tactics and on-line tools. Facilitated by RocketHub CEO Brian Meece, this workshop is part of RISCA’s Professional Artists Development(PAD) program, which provides year-round training sessions and minigrants to help Rhode Island artists enhance their business development practices. For more information, contact RISCA Director of Individual Artist Programs Cristina DiChiera.
