State Legislative Roundup 2017
NASAA has released its State Legislative Roundup 2017, the latest iteration of its annual survey of state legislation important to state arts agencies and their constituencies. In highlighting more than 100 bills considered by state legislatures this year—which NASAA curated from the 400 bills it reviewed—the report assesses current trends in cultural policy around the country and surfaces specific examples of legislation. It summarizes bills introduced that are pertinent to SAA structure, governance and funding. The report also considers legislation addressing programmatic priorities such as public art, arts education, the creative economy, and health and well-being.
