Updated Information on State Arts Agency Placement
State arts agencies operate in a variety of locations in state government. While many agencies are independent and report directly to the executive office, state arts agencies also exist within departments of economic development, departments of cultural resources and other agencies.
NASAA maintains up-to-date details of state arts agency placement, and has recently updated the state arts agency placement table available to NASAA members. New to this table is an updated summary of the structural composition of multiagency departments of state government containing state arts agencies. Information includes the departments in which state arts agencies are housed, a list of other agencies placed in these departments, a reference website and titles of department leadership. For more information and insight on state arts agency structure, contact NASAA Chief Program and Planning Officer Kelly Barsdate.
