NASAA Testimony: The Value of State Arts Agencies
NASAA was recently invited to submit testimony to the Joint Committee on Arts and Cultural Resources of the Kansas Legislature. A standing committee comprised of members of the Kansas House and Senate, the Joint Committee is responsible for considering state policy relating to the arts, film, historic preservation and cultural programs. During its October 5 meeting in Topeka, the Joint Committee gathered information on funding for the arts in Kansas and the role of government in attaining the state’s cultural goals. NASAA was asked to address the status of public and private funding for the arts across the nation and to speak to the role of government in promoting the arts. Read NASAA’s testimony.
