Update on NASAA’s Arts and Health Professional Learning Community
It’s not too late to get involved in NASAA’s Arts and Health Professional Learning Community (PLC)! The PLC is a professional development opportunity open to all state and jurisdictional arts agency and regional arts organization staff with an interest in advancing arts and health programming in their states and regions.
The aim of the Arts and Health PLC is to strengthen state and regional practices in arts and health through peer learning and expert input. The arc of the endeavor includes monthly peer conversations, two virtual learning sessions and one in-person convening. This will culminate in a report highlighting lessons learned.
Over the past several months, the Arts and Health PLC has engaged states and regions in peer conversations around Arts and Health pilot funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, creative aging, and veterans’ recovery programs. Additionally, NASAA hosted a webinar with Dr. Jill Sonke of the University of Florida’s Center for Arts in Medicine showcasing the arts and health research that’s most compelling for advancing policy.
If you’ve yet to engage, you can still benefit from past and planned meetings. All meeting materials and recordings are available to PLC participants. Upcoming plans include a webinar on social prescribing, ongoing monthly topical conversations and an in-person convening taking place in early 2026.
To get involved and make sure you receive all Arts and Health PLC communications, contact project manager Moira McGuire and ask to be added to the Arts and Health PLC Outlook Group.
