FY2025 State Arts Agency Revenues Report
NASAA’s new Fiscal Year 2025 State Arts Agency Revenues report presents national funding trends across state and jurisdictional arts agencies (SAAs). Total legislative appropriations reached $694 million in FY2025. This marks an 8.1% drop from $755 million in FY2024. While this decrease stems from reduced investment in a few large-budget states, current funding nevertheless remains higher than before the COVID-19 pandemic. About half of all SAAs experienced budget increases, with a median increase of 4.5%. Line-item appropriations remain a crucial funding component, accounting for approximately one-fifth of total legislative funding.
The report provides comprehensive national and state level data through detailed tables. A companion press release offers a concise overview, and NASAA’s interactive dashboards offer data on per capita appropriations, funding sources, trends over time and regional comparisons. NASAA can provide customized funding analyses for members on request, including per capita rankings and historical trends. Contact NASAA Research Manager Nakyung Rhee for information tailored to your needs.
On NASAA’s website, you will find research tools and advocacy materials to help SAAs and their partners make evidence based arguments about the broad benefits of the arts. Stay informed about latest updates through NASAA’s social media presence on Facebook and X.
