Preview of State Arts Agency FY2023 Appropriations
The FY2023 State Arts Agency Legislative Appropriations Preview forecasts that the aggregated appropriations to state arts agencies (totaling $768.7 million) are projected to decline by 2.9% from fiscal year 2022. However, the projection for most states’ FY2023 budgets remains close to their all-time high of FY2022, driven by pandemic aid for the arts and healthy state budgets in general.
These figures represent a preliminary estimate of state arts agency funding and will be adjusted over time as revenue and budget deliberations are finalized in all 56 states and jurisdictions. In the upcoming winter, NASAA will publish a comprehensive report detailing the FY2023 budgets of all state arts agencies.
NASAA can provide in-depth custom reporting on SAA funding.
