Indiana: InstaGrant

Crowdsourcing is helping the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) to surface, highlight and share—as well as reward—exemplary arts activities during its annual constituent convening. Through its InstaGrant program, IAC awards $2,500 to an arts organization or project determined to be the most outstanding or impactful by attendees of the Indiana Arts Homecoming. IAC selects 11 InstaGrant contenders through an open nominating process, giving each one free conference registration and a $200 travel honorarium so they can attend and present their work during the event. Following the nominees’ initial presentations, conference attendees select the finalists and, after a second round of expositions, vote on the ultimate InstaGrant winner. IAC is currently seeking InstaGrant nominations that reflect the theme of its 2019 Indiana Arts Homecoming—Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access: Arts for All—especially those that realize IAC’s IDEA Goals and inspire new ideas that foster “arts for all.” To learn more about IAC’s InstaGrant and its 2019 statewide convening, contact Deputy Director Miah Michaelsen.
