2016 State Legislative Roundup
NASAA’s recently published 2016 State Legislative Roundup highlights more than 60 bills considered by state legislatures this year that are pertinent to state arts agencies and their constituencies. The roundup is an annual report presenting a curated cross-section of legislation to highlight national policy trends. The 2016 edition is based on NASAA’s review of 250 individual bills, an accumulation of proposed and enacted legislation affecting a broad range of cultural policy issues. Through the roundup, we hope to share insights that inform the work you and other arts supporters do in your state.
NASAA’s survey of the state legislative landscape is informed by input from state arts agencies. We welcome news—now or at any point in the year—about past, current or pending legislation in your state. You can share your legislative leads by contacting NASAA Research Manager Paul Pietsch.
