Question: How many grants do state arts agencies give out each year?

Answer: In fiscal year 2006 state arts agencies awarded 26,150 grants totaling over $270 million in 5,451 communities. Approximately 18% of these grants went to organizations for general operating support and 11.5% went to individual artists.
