Frequently Asked Questions
Question: How can I find information about foundation giving in my area?
Answer: The Foundation Center is a good resource for learning about trends in giving among independent, corporate and community and foundations. The Foundation Yearbook publication provides regional giving profiles, and the FC Stats Database provides data on the “top 50” gifts and grant makers for each state and many metropolitan areas. Visit http://fdncenter.org/fc_stats/index.html.
For More Information: While the above resources will help you understand general giving patterns, NASAA also can help you locate specific information about foundation giving to the arts in your state. Contact Laura Smith, NASAA’s director of resource development, at 202-347-6352 x120 or laura.smith@nasaa-arts.org for customized assistance.
