Purpose of Fund The Trust is a special revenue fund intended to provide a healthy and stable climate for the arts, advance the arts in the state, stimulate additional funds from the private sector and augment the work of the Nevada Arts Council. Special Taxes or Legislation None Current Principal Amount $0 State Arts Agency Role The state arts agency is working to determine the "next steps" for the Trust, including feedback from state representatives. Partners The Nevada Humanities and Nevada Arts Advocates worked together with the state arts agency to rewrite the Trust legislation. Other Notes and Comments The original legislation was written without assistance from the state arts agency and included many mistakes; it has since been rewritten and corrected. A Music Performance Trust Fund has existed since 1987. That fund is also currently inactive and efforts are under way to remove the legislation.
