Project Description

The Nevada Arts Council will contract with Lifetime Arts to present online interactive training in developing and implementing in-person and online creative aging programs for all of Nevada’s libraries and for teaching artists in all 17 Nevada counties. Training provided by Lifetime Arts will include six hours of tailored instruction for three or four cohorts of 25 people each (two librarian cohorts and one or two teaching artist cohorts), followed by post-training coaching, networking and technical support. These sessions will take place between September 2021 and April 2022. After the training, the artist cohort will receive support from Lifetime Arts to develop curriculum for creative aging programming they can present, and an opportunity to introduce the program they develop to library programmers in the other two cohorts with an online presentation. The library programmers will participate in follow-up webinars and online meetings that focus on aspects of program development, funding, and implementation, based on their needs and interests. The Nevada Arts Council will support the development of this statewide creative aging network by hosting online networking meetings and sharing information about projects on its website, events calendar and social media.
