Senate Committee Recommends Increased Funding for NEA

Today, the Senate Interior Appropriations Subcommittee passed legislation that would fund the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) at $155 million in fiscal year 2019, following passage of the bill in the House at the same level. It is expected that the Senate Appropriations Committee will also pass the bill with that funding level on Thursday.

At $2 million over current funding, this is the amount that NASAA and our federal arts coalition partners requested. Members like you, who reinforce the value of public support of the arts to your legislators, have been critical to the success of this important milestone. Review NASAA’s testimony thanking the House Interior Appropriations Subcommittee for recommending the increase.
