RESEARCH ASSISTANT
The National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) is seeking a temporary, part-time research assistant. This position will play a role in building a national evidence base about state arts agencies and facilitating the use of research across multiple NASAA programs and service areas.
This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to work in a national association and is interested in research, government, or the arts and humanities. Projects will include communications regarding NASAA’s biannual survey of state arts agency revenues and maintenance of the revenue survey database; assistance with producing grant fact sheets for NASAA’s members; and assistance with NASAA’s grant database. Additional assistance may also be required.
Responsibilities
- Secure data from multiple sources
- Send e-mail communications and follow-ups to state arts agencies
- Structure information for use in geographic information systems
- Assist with grant and revenue data from NASAA’s information archives
- Assist with federal data compilation and analysis
- Create spreadsheets and populate databases
- Administer surveys and track survey responses
- Prepare maps, charts, tables and narrative material
Qualifications
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word
- Preferred experience with Tableau or other data visualization and mapping software
- Experience with customer service and communication
- Experience working with datasets, synthesis, and visualization
Duration and Compensation
This is a contract position with a planned duration of 6 months. The compensation rate is $30 per hour. The research assistant is expected to work 10 to 20 hours per week and can work remotely.
