DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

The National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) is recruiting a full-time development director.

This position fosters a culture of engagement, inclusion, philanthropy and volunteerism within NASAA. As part of the management team and a key outward-facing communicator, the development director directs annual giving and major gifts from individuals, foundation and corporate support, government grants, and selected functions related to NASAA’s annual conference and convenings.

The development director position is a full-time, salaried (exempt) position including benefits. The starting annual salary range is $90,000 – $95,000, depending upon qualifications and experience. Review the full Development Director Position Description.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Seven years of progressive fundraising experience, including leading and mentoring a professional team
  • Experience working in a professional association, a national nonprofit or a policy administration and advocacy organization strongly preferred
  • Experience with budgeting and event planning strongly preferred

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Proven computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and Salesforce or other database programs
  • Exemplary collaboration, organizational, and written and oral communication skills; attention to detail; and ability to prioritize work and tasks
  • Strong interpersonal abilities
  • Experience developing and executing strategic goals preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE

The National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) is recruiting a full-time operations associate.

This position supports NASAA’s day-to-day office functions including updating the member database, providing administrative support to the operations team, and assisting with conference and meeting logistics. The operations associate also provides administrative support to select senior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Updates member rosters for state arts agencies and colleague organizations in the database
  • Contacts member agencies to request their staff and council member rosters
  • Provides general administrative support, including monitoring all NASAA mail, maintaining NASAA’s office calendar, and maintaining inventory and supplies
  • Coordinates appointment calendars for select senior staff and schedules committee activities for the chief operating officer and director of planning and membership
  • Assists with the planning and execution of meetings and events

 

Qualifications

  • Two-year degree, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Two+ years in general office or administrative functions and basic bookkeeping
  • Two+ years of CRM database experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Skilled in data entry and knowledge of CRM databases
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Adaptability to meet deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to support NASAA’s commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion
