LaVon Bracy Davis currently serves as the state representative for Florida’s 40th House District. Prior to her work in the legislature, Rep. Bracy Davis served as an arts executive in the City of Orlando and Central Florida. Her key contributions include leading the diversification of community programming and engagement in the arts community in Central Florida. Among Bracy Davis’s key personal accomplishments was the legislative appointment as chair of the Florida Division of Arts and Culture. While serving, she had the opportunity to select the sculptor who created the sculpture of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune that will be placed in the National Statuary Hall in Washington, D.C. Bracy Davis is a committed board member of Pace Center for Girls – Orange County and a volunteer for Valencia College’s Take Stock in Children/Horizons mentorship program. In 2018, Bracy Davis was chosen by the Orlando Business Journal as one of the 40 Under 40 Awards recipients. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in theater arts from Howard University and a juris doctor from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, College of Law. She is a licensed and barred attorney, and previously worked as a senior attorney for the Department of Children and Families. (Board term 2021-2026)
