Government Arts Support: Research
NASAA’s recently updated policy brief, Why Should Government Support the Arts? provides an informed synopsis of the nuanced conversation surrounding public support for the arts. Within the policy brief, common questions such as these:
- How can we afford to support the arts in hard times?
- Is support for the arts a partisan issue?
are answered using research-based analysis and language that will resonate with policymakers and the public. In addition to the policy brief, NASAA maintains a Research Supplement with numerous direct links to studies and reports highlighting the benefits of the arts to economies, education, civic life, communities, and health and well-being.
Looking for a study or research materials that will help you articulate the many benefits of your agency’s investment? Make sure to browse the Why Should Government Support the Arts Research Supplement and contact NASAA Research Director Ryan Stubbs with any questions.
