Katie Hughes joined NASAA in 2016. As development manager, she manages individual giving to NASAA via the Annual Fund and helps develop NASAA’s foundation and corporate relationships. She also supports NASAA’s broader fundraising activities, including cultivation, solicitation, recognition and stewardship functions.
Before joining NASAA, Katie worked for small businesses and nonprofit organizations in North Carolina and Tennessee, including K2 Solutions, Family & Children’s Service, the Pennyroyal Arts Council and Cape Fear Regional Theatre. She has experience in administration and proposal writing and has served on grant award panels for state and county arts agencies. She worked as the development manager for a social services nonprofit, where she organized fundraising campaigns and special projects, managed the organization’s grants and proposals, and maintained close relationships with donors, board members and external partners. Katie earned a bachelor of arts degree in dance performance from Chapman University. She has taught dance to children for more than 10 years, and enjoys passing on her love of the arts to the next generation.
