NYSCA will continue its collaboration with the New York State Office for the Aging and Lifetime Arts by expanding and scaling its current creative aging initiative. Targeting communities across the state that have been hit hardest by recent challenges, community based arts organizations that are NYSCA grantees and senior-serving organizations in NYSOFA’s network will work together to serve older adults in communities of color, rural regions, veterans, the disabled, LGBTQIA+ communities and other vulnerable populations. Lifetime Arts will provide training for teaching artists within these communities and administrative staff at partner organizations, and a cohort of practitioners will come together for convenings to network, share learning and inform the future direction of this work.
