Maryland State Arts Council: Advancing Creative Aging in Maryland: Creative Aging Arts Provider and Venue Training

The Advancing Creative Aging in Maryland: Creative Aging Arts Provider and Venue Training project includes the expansion of the existing #mcreds Creative Aging Provider training, a new Creative Aging Vendor training, two biannual networking events, and an annual convening at the Maryland Arts Summit. The Creative Aging Arts Provider training is a 15-hour virtual course open to community teaching artists and arts educators. The course includes a variety of synchronous and asynchronous activities. All synchronous sessions are led by Lifetime Arts facilitator team and all asynchronous activities are led by the Maryland State Department of Education. The project also includes two biannual networking events with presentations by local, state and regional funders followed by artist showcases, speed dating and resource sharing. These 90-minute events will be open to the 2020 and 2021 cohorts of the Creative Aging #mcred for Providers and Vendors. Finally, the project will conclude with a preconference at the annual statewide conference for the arts sector, the Maryland Arts Summit. The Summit convenes the entire arts sector, including education, tourism, health, public art and more. This preconference will feature presentations from the field, national experts and networking.
