SAA Revenues, FY2016

NASAA recently released State Arts Agency Revenues, Fiscal Year 2016, which gives an in-depth look into the various types of funds state arts agencies (SAAs) receive to support their work. This report provides historical and national context for states and often serves as a starting point when creating customized revenue reports. An overview can be found in the press release made available to the media and the public.

We have also updated our map of per capita appropriations on the Funding and State Revenues Center pages of our website to display FY2016 figures. This map uses data found in Table 6 of the SAA Revenues Report to allow you to quickly compare the per capita appropriation of your agency to your neighbors, and to identify states with similar per capita funding levels. Hovering over a state on the map will reveal the sources of that SAA’s revenues, which can also be found in Table 7 of the report.

The NASAA research team is always available to create customized revenue reports for your state. Questions we have answered recently include:

  • How has inflation affected my appropriation?
  • My state’s budget has grown over the past few years. Has my agency’s funding been keeping pace?
