Wyoming Arts Council: Creative Aging Training and Grants for Wyoming Arts Organizations

Project Description

Wyoming Arts Council will expand our current creative aging programming to involve nonprofit arts organizations in addition to the artists and librarians we are already working with. WAC will hire Lifetime Arts to provide training for 25 administrators at nonprofit arts organizations across the state. Providing professional creative aging training for arts administrators at arts nonprofits will bolster the long-term viability of Wyoming communities establishing ongoing creative aging programs, as we envision partnerships developing between local arts nonprofits, libraries, artists and aging communities. This will be a virtual training. WAC will also provide seed grants for those arts organizations that receive training, to develop partnerships with elder care facilities in their region to jointly create a partnership for ongoing creative aging programs, hiring artists trained through our partnership with Lifetime Arts. This competitive regrant program will allow the participating nonprofits to apply for a $4,000 seed grant to support at least two creative aging program series. WAC will award 13 of these seed grants. The funding will cover artist fees, workshop materials and supplies.
