NASAA Legislative Tracking and State Legislative Roundup
Each year, as part of NASAA’s efforts to understand cultural policy trends and legislative actions affecting state arts agencies, we track relevant state legislation.
Over half of state legislatures have finished their regular sessions and have adjourned until the next session. Policymakers debated hundreds of bills with implications for the arts, in areas such as:
- arts education
- cultural districts and the creative economy
- dedicated revenue sources
- public art
NASAA is available to assist states with legislative trends data and analysis. For a look at previous legislative trends and historical data, our 2022 State Legislative Roundup includes 70 bills, with a focus on responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, creative economic development and more.
We rely on state arts agencies to help us understand what legislation is most important to you, and we welcome updates on legislation within your state.
