Vermont Arts Council (VAC) will partner with the Central Vermont Council on Aging—the creators of the “Creative Care Kit” program and the only Vermont Area Agency on Aging (AAA) currently running a creative aging project—to build the awareness, relationships and skills among teaching artists and AAA staff and volunteers for creative aging programming to flourish. This programming will center sequential skill building and, although primarily virtual, will support participating older adults in connecting meaningfully and building relationships (primarily through engagement with trained Creative Companion volunteers). Together, we will create a set of coordinated activities to build relationships across the various networks, a hub for coordinating and sharing resources, and a blueprint through pilot projects of the impact of these intersections.
