Sandi Tun joined the NASAA team in May 2019. As Operations Manager, she works to ensure the smooth running of NASAA’s day-to-day office functions. Sandi manages the NASAA membership database, assists with accounting functions, coordinates conference and meeting logistics, and provides front-office administrative support.
Outside of NASAA, Sandi is founder and executive director of Burmese American Collective, a nonprofit organization that educates and advocates for the Myanmar-American community. She previously worked at National Geographic in Washington, D.C. Since 2013 she has been volunteering as a teacher in Myanmar, spending her summers engaging with communities throughout the country. A lifelong nerd and lover of learning, Sandi is an alum of the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London) and holds a master’s degree in history of art and archaeology of Southeast Asia. She loves to eat, travel and share the stories of communities across the world.
