SAAs Creating Equitable Access
NASAA has developed a new infographic demonstrating that state arts agencies (SAAs) contribute to more equitable access to the arts. This evidence based document uses data, language and visualizations to concisely convey that SAAs broadly open the door to the arts in all types of communities. In this new infographic, NASAA combines SAA Final Descriptive Report information with demographic data from the U.S. Census Bureau to articulate community economic characteristics by grant location.
The infographic highlights evidence that significant portions of SAA grants reach counties with median household incomes below the state median. It demonstrates that a majority of state arts agency awards go to less affluent counties, and that SAAs make substantial investments in low-income communities. The graphic is available as a PDF, can be formatted as a PowerPoint or a Word document, or can be arranged to your specifications.
Not only can these data be effective in national case making, but this type of analysis can be created for any state. Contact NASAA Research Director Ryan Stubbs to learn more about how NASAA can analyze your grants data.
